Residents of On the GO Mimico will get to live in a well-loved, tight-knit neighbourhood. Mimico-on-the-Lake is home to mom-and-pop shops, waterfront parks and plenty of local events where you can indulge your interest in arts, local history or the natural world.

A quick walk from the condo, Amos Waites Park is home to Mimico Square, a regular community gathering place. A reoccurring event throughout the summer, “Dancing Under the Stars” brings together locals for an evening of fun with a local DJ spinning tunes and taking requests.

The park is also undergoing quite the revitalization process and recently started construction on a new playground which will feature new equipment and plenty of fun features for kids and parents alike.

The nearby Mimico Public Library is now on the look out for two story-gathering artists for a new initiative called “The Tale of a Town – Mimico.” The artists in residence will work out of the library as part of an initiative spearheaded by the Toronto Arts Council Strategic Initiative Program. The program will run this fall and help preserve local heritage and promote neighbourhood culture.

The entire area is alive with new events and projects, year-round. For the third year in a row Humber College and Lakeshore Arts have partnered up to bring Cultures Days to the lakefront community.

Between September 26th and 28th, there will be more than 30 different free and interactive events and activities along the street, from literature readings to an intro to swing dancing. The entire community is invited to come out for “Creating the Wave,” an attempt to build the largest food-tin wave Toronto has ever seen. Plus all the canned goods will be donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank.

Aside from the greater community, there will be plenty of places at On the GO Mimico to connect with your neighbours as well. The 242-unit building comes equipped with a number of common areas perfect for socializing. Whether you want to have a get-together in the party-room or just convene in the outdoor terrace and enjoy the view from the green roof, there are plenty of options.

What’s more, the condo will also come equipped with ground floor retail space meaning residents will have plenty of opportunity to bump into each other at the gourmet fine food store or meet up at the espresso and coffee bar.

Condo-seekers looking for convenience and a strong sense of community should check out On the GO Mimico, which will have access to a GO train station right on the property. Suites start from the mid-$200,000s
