The founder of one of the country’s largest new development brokerages is stepping aside as CEO and taking on a new role as chair.
Pat Baker is passing the torch of chief executive officer of Baker Real Estate to prominent real-estate figure and current president of the company, Barbara Lawlor, while Baker steps in as chair of the company she founded in 1993.
Headquartered in Toronto, Baker Real Estate specializes in the project marketing and sales of condominiums, townhouses and single-family homes, as well as hotel condominiums and resort properties.
It has grown into one of the country’s most successful real estate companies, with annual new home sales of almost $2 billion in Canada, the U.S. and overseas.
Lawlor has also been with Baker Real Estate since 1993 and has opened new offices and led major sales and marketing campaigns in both North America and international markets. She will continue to serve as president as she takes on her new role as CEO.
As chair, Baker will be take on strategy-focused duties for the company, but she will also help with new business and clients.
