We have to hand it to Knightstone Capital Management. Not only is the developer known for incorporating innovative features into all of its residential projects, but the contests and events it hosts are equally creative.

Take the latest campaign for The Upper House, for instance. The developer is giving away $1,000 to five winners who post the best (and most inventive!) birdface photo. Here’s how it works: snap a photo of yourself making an amusing bird face and submit the picture on Instagram with the hashtag #LeasideBirdface or via email to, accompanied by a caption and the same hashtag as above.

If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can even take a picture in one of the seven-foot tall birdhouses placed throughout the city (four are in Leaside and one is at Yonge and Eglinton).

The contest ends this Sunday, August 10th and three winners have already been announced, so be sure to enter before the weekend ends!

Once complete, the seven-storey building will house 74 residential units, including seven two-storey townhomes. The project will also feature a wealth of amenities, such as a fitness studio, rooftop terrace and even a dog spa. Tentative occupancy is slated for October 2016.

Prices for available units start in the mid $300,000s and suites range in size from 439 to 1,509 square feet.
