On Tuesday afternoon, construction workers at LOVE Condos in Scarborough gathered for a celebratory barbecue lunch, a meal that marked the completion of the 20-storey building’s exterior structure.
“It’s a success already, since the structural part of the building is already done,” said Yan Wang, Vice President of Gemterra. “The project’s quality is there, and now we’re jumping to the finishing stage.”
Now that the new condo and townhouse building at 185 Bonis Avenue has topped off, Wang says it won’t be long before residents start moving in. He expects occupancy to begin in late November of this year, and for the building to be fully occupied by February or March 2015.
LOVE has also been gaining attention ever since the potential Scarborough subway expansion became a hot topic of conversation. Infrastructure discussions, together with the district’s multicultural population and affordability, are what Wang says contribute to the project’s value.
“Scarborough is a good location because it’s still part of Toronto,” he said. “It’s well developed, and many people are starting to learn that. Many newcomers also prefer to live in a community where the price is reasonable.”
The development will house 282 tower suites and 21 townhomes in total. The units will boast floor-to-ceiling windows, contemporary kitchens and a wealth of top-quality features and finishes (think granite countertops, ENERGY STAR appliances and laminate flooring).
Prices for available units start from $227,000 and suites range in size from 557 to 1,040 square feet.
