Tallest residential building in Calgary

Construction on Hon Tower‘s The Guardian has reached the 41st floor, officially making it the tallest residential tower in Calgary.

The concrete structure, now at 420 feet (128 metres) surpasses the previous record holder, the neighboring ArriVa tower. When the first Guardian tower is fully complete in the spring of 2015, the 44-storey building will stand 482 feet (147 metres) tall.

The Guardian North is the first of two identical towers being constructed in Calgary’s historic Victoria Park neighbourhood. The second tower, also currently under construction, is slated for completion in 2016. Combined, the two towers will house 620 residential units as well as a mixed-use podium containing parking, shared amenities, retail space and live-work units.

The completion of both buildings will add significantly to the neighbourhood’s population and serve as a striking symbol of its urban renaissance. Other nearby development include the new East Victoria Park, the 200-room Mariott International ClubSport Hotel, the National Music Center and the New Central Library.
