Since 2010, Architects for Animals’ Giving Shelter campaign has invited some of the biggest names in art and architecture to create one-of-a-kind designer cat shelters to raise awareness about stray cats.

Often left to scour for food in backyards and alleyways, ferals and abandoned cats are particularly vulnerable during the cold winter months.

At events held across New York, the unique cat houses are shown off to the general public before being implanted across the city where they serve as shelters for our four-legged feline friends without a warm place to call home.

Next month, Architects for Animals will be hosting its first event in Los Angeles in a benefit for FixNation, a non-profit dedicated to reducing the population of homeless cats. Local LA designers participating in the cause include HOK, LEHRER ARCHITECTS, Perkins and Will and Pfeiffer Partners Architects, amongst others.
