yonge station

Ever since Pratt Homes celebrated Yonge Station’s grand opening in early May, interest hasn’t waned. At the time, more than 300 people attended the event where about 50 units sold right off the bat.

Now, the first phase of the residential community in Barrie is officially 60 per cent sold. Since the initial pre-launch incentives have come and gone, all units have increased in price by $5,000 — but that hasn’t stopped crowds of interested buyers from visiting the sales centre at 39 Madeline Drive to claim a unit.

The new development will soon house a selection of condos, townhomes and eight-plexes at Yonge Street and Madeline Drive. Crave space? More than half the units will exceed 1,300 square feet.

The condo units will boast high-design features with open-concept layouts, nine-foot ceilings and oversized balconies that add another one hundred square feet of living space. Then there are the eight-plexes, which will feature two to three bedrooms, two bathrooms, large storage areas and brightly-lit kitchens and dining areas. The townhomes will offer even more space, with three to four bedrooms, attached garages, well-appointed kitchens and customized finishes.

Yonge Station is also garnering attention thanks to its thoughtfully designed exterior. The buildings will be clad in stone, stucco and glass materials to create bold blocks of colour that are both modern and traditional. The project will also feature spacious balconies, expansive windows and arched overhangs that will surround the main entrance, a look that resembles that of a European train station.

In addition, Pratt Homes will incorporate tons of greenery into the project by planting 259 trees, 469 shrubs and 905 perennials. The development will also display distinct works of art designed by acclaimed artist Ron Baird.

Located in Barrie’s south end, residents will be minutes from the GO Station and the Barrie Waterfront, which offers seven kilometres of walking trails, beaches, boardwalks, a marina and more.

In other news, Pratt Homes has racked up a string of impressive achievements. The developer recently won the Simcoe County Home Builder Four Ace Award for Creative Excellence in Internet Website for Yonge Station.

Prices for available units start from $204,990 and suites range in size from 800 to 1,454 square feet.
