Steve Stipsits had big shoes to fill when he became Branthaven Homes’ president back in 1986. Taking up the mantle from his father Al, a prominent home builder who founded the Burlington-based company over 40 years ago, Steve Stipsits has followed in his father’s footsteps as both a business and community leader.
For his contributions, Steve was awarded the Burlington Chamber of Commerce 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The ceremony took place at the Burlington Convention Centre on June 3rd.
“Steve Stipsits was chosen as the award recipient to recognize his leadership role in building a successful, high-profile company that positively represents Burlington both locally and regionally,” the chamber said in a news release. “He reflects entrepreneurship through his companies, and his philanthropic endeavours have given back to the community.”
Thanks to his business savvy and dedication to building quality single family homes, executive townhomes and master-planned communities, Steve Stipsits has cemented Branthaven Homes’ place as one of the city’s most prestigious companies.
Previous winners of the coveted award include the likes of billionaire business mogul Michael Lee Chin, Michael G. DeGroote, Ron Joyce, Ron Foxcroft, Reginald Pollard and Pasquale Paletta.
MC of the evening Steve Patterson, host of CBC’s The Debaters, laughs with Joel Cohen, writer and co-executive producer of The Simpsons and keynote speaker at the event.
Families currently looking to settle in a new home should better familiarize themselves with Branthaven Homes as the award-winning developer currently has many new housing projects in the pipeline, including Nestings at River Ridge, Joy-Kitchener and Bohemian Towns, which will be tucked away in the historic town of Waterdown.
