Urban Capital’s commitment to creating unique living spaces was on full display at a VIP event for River City Phase 3 in the West Don Lands. The shindig was an exclusive event for past purchasers and the media to get a sneak peek at the project before it’s opened to the general public.
The developer behind Smart House, the city’s first micro condo, has teamed up with Waterfront Toronto to create a bold structure for the brand new community in the downtown east side. Saucier + Perrotte Architects have envisioned a 28-storey, LEED Gold condo that will act as the penultimate phase of the new neighbourhood. There’s nothing cookie cutter about this building. The cantilevered suites will even come in different heights and lengths.
The project is also an exercise in partnerships. Not only have Waterfront Toronto and Urban Capital come together, but the distinctive look of RC3 is the result of the creative efforts of a number of notable design minds: Claude Cormier is behind the landscaping and Graham Hill has signed on to design the interiors of 20 exclusive suites.
Aside from Corktown Commons and park space along the Don River and lake, the site itself will be home to a wealth of amenities, including a 2,000-square foot gym, a yoga and Pilates studio, party room, a tool-equipped hobby and craft room and children’s play area. Outside, residents will be able to enjoy a gold-tiled lap pool!
Judging by the turnout at the soon-to-be opened sales centre, River City Phase 3 has already earned a number of fans. Check out our pictures of the packed-to-the-rafters event, which saw quite a few bold-faced names from the design and real estate worlds come out to celebrate:
The party even filled up the model suite.
Graham Hill chats with Peter Clewes, Principal at architectsAlliance.
Party-goers got a gift bag, which included a Lego model of the condo!
