Harmony Village Sheppard is not your average residential community. Not only does the development cater to today’s aging baby boomer generation, but the abundance of amenities to be offered will make it feel like an integrated city of its own.

The concept started when Jack Pong, CEO of Harmony Village, began searching for supportive housing options for his parents in Toronto. In doing so, he was shocked to discover that so few options were available.

“As someone who has been in the property and community management business for over 30 years, I decided to do something about it,” he said.

And so he did. The unique residential community by City Core Developments and Fortress Real Developments will contain an unprecedented number of amenities and features that will serve to enhance the lifestyle and well-being of every resident.

In addition to the standard set of amenities found in many residential projects these days (fitness centre, terrace with outdoor barbecue area and party room) Harmony Village Sheppard will also provide a variety of “peace of mind” services, including on-site medical offices with a physiotherapy clinic, hydrotherapy pool and pharmacy.

Care to relax the days away, learn a new hobby or book a trip to a far-flung location? All of this can be done in the comfort of the community. Spend the morning unwinding on the fourth floor terrace and dip into the salt water pool before joining the wine club (complete with organized wine tasting) or attending a cooking class. There’s also a music and karaoke room, arts and crafts area, cappuccino bar… the list goes on.

Phase two of the project won’t skimp out on distinct amenities either. Here you’ll find a landscaped Zen garden with water features, rooftop plant and winter garden, salon and spa, travel agency and private theatre room.

“The development goes far beyond providing a simple housing solution. I wanted to create a mixed-use facility with ample services and a community that my parents would be happy to call home,” Pong said. “My top priority is creating an engaging environment that will allow residents to live active and comfortable lives.”

To top it all off, residents will have round-the-clock access to St. Paul’s L’Amoreaux Centre, providing 24-hour emergency response services, health promotion workshops and activities, grocery shopping assistance, Meals on Wheels and more.

The developer’s sister project, Harmony Village Lake Simcoe, is located at 75 Bradford Street in Barrie and will offer similar sought-after services.

Prices for available suite start from $177,500 and units range in size from 395 square feet to 1,800 square feet.
