Update: An earlier version of this story included price growth information. Because of reader feedback, we re-evaluated the numbers and determined the January numbers were too small a subset to use as a gauge for price growth.

Last month, the average sale price for a detached house in Toronto rose 14.8 per cent to a new average of $888,210, leading all property types across the GTA in year-over-year growth.

Since demand for the low-rise homes in the city continues to stay strong, we looked into the Toronto Real Estate Board’s numbers from January 2012, 2013 and 2014 to see how each neighbourhood fared in terms of sales and median sales price.

Overall, the median sale price for a detached house in Toronto-proper was $695,000 in January 2014. Check out the map below to see how your part of the city fared:
