It was two days before Valentine’s Day and The Perry‘s presentation centre at 199 Avenue Road was buzzing with activity for an evening event that saw four of Toronto’s most eligible bachelors squaring off against four Toronto husbands with romance cred to spare.
The competition? Build a beautiful bouquet and let the event’s attendees bid on it to decide whose is the best of them all.
Each husband and bachelor assembled a bouquet that was displayed in the middle of the presentation centre for bidders to assess. Every dollar raised through the auction was matched by Mansouri Living dynamic duo Maryam and Nargues Mansouri, the developers behind The Perry and the hosts of the evening.
The bachelors won the day as Zark Fatah, the man behind a number of King West’s hottest spots, put together the bouquet that received the highest bid.
At the end of the evening, a total of $12,000 was raised for the charity Rethink Breast Cancer.
“We were really excited to be a part of this event again, it was really amazing. We love working with the Mansouri team and this event is really great for raising a lot of awareness and funds,” said Lindsay Grange, senior manager of events for Rethink Breast Cancer.
“This event is a lot of fun and it’s about rethinking the typical bachelor auction, which is exactly in line with what Rethink tries to do.”
Catering for the event was provided by Anthony Rose, the brains behind neighbourhood favourite, Rose and Sons on Dupont.
