626 Driggs corner

Williamsburg is getting another hotel — and it’s not on Wythe Avenue.

Charles Blaichman has filed plans for a new five-story hotel at 626 Driggs Avenue, on the corner of North 4th Street.

The proposed 70,944-square-foot project would have about 255 rooms, judging from the Schedule A filing. The development will be designed by Garrison Architects, and the building will have a first-floor eatery, interior courtyard, roof terrace and enclosed parking for approximately 83 cars.

The vacant site sold to Waterbridge Capital LLC in April 2013, according to public records. The plan exam application calls for 325 feet of fencing on Metropolitan, Driggs and North 4th, so expect… lots of construction on that block. The zoning lot will be a combination of several tax lots, including 185 North 3rd Street, a warehouse.

626 Driggs and 185 North 3rd were two of six properties in Williamsburg purchased by a Waterbridge-led investment group last year, the New York Observer reported. The total package, loosely centered around Metropolitan and Driggs avenues, traded for $27 million.
