In addition to its already famous Mink Mile and array of upscale restaurants, Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood will soon have another big draw: 1 Yorkville, a 58-storey luxury condominium by Bazis Inc. and Plaza that’s coming to the corner of Yorkville Avenue and Yonge Street.
There’s been tons of buzz surrounding the new development as of late thanks to the design work of award-winning architect Rosario Varacalli. The elegant condo will sit above the fully restored Yorkville Village buildings that were built in the 1860s. Crimped metallic columns that resemble ribbons will wrap around the structure, a design that suits the sophisticated vibe of the neighbourhood.
Walk into the double-height lobby and expect to find a variety of colourful art installations that complement the grey and black furnishings. There will also be a round-the-clock concierge service and a three-floor amenity space, complete with a dedicated spa floor with plunge pools and steam rooms.
Head upstairs to the fitness level and exercise in the CrossFit studio before visiting the rooftop entertainment space which features a barbecue area and outdoor theatre. Movie nights under the stars are a must.
Going for a stroll outside will just as enjoyable as the above mentioned amenities. Residents can saunter past a number of designer boutiques on Bloor Street — like Hermes, Louis Vuitton and Chanel — before sipping champagne at the Hyatt’s Roof Lounge.
The new development is currently in preconstruction and will house 577 units in total.
