Another month, another strong showing for Calgary’s housing market.
The preliminary housing data from the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB) for the month of November shows there were 1,730 home sales in the region, an 18.74 per cent increase from the same time a year ago. (Tweet this stat)
November also saw the median home price in Calgary climb by 8.50 per cent to $406,875, while the average sale price hit $458,052, a 5.56 per cent increase from November 2012.
Other notable year-over-year November numbers from CREB
- Condo sales in Calgary rose by 20.55%, while the average sale price dropped by -1.10% (Tweet this stat)
- 18.99% more single-family homes sold in November 2013 (1,197 transactions) than they did in November 2012 (1,006 transactions)
- The average sale price of a single family home in November was $516,446, up 5.76% from last year
- Days on the market for all housing types dropped from 50 in November 2012 to just 39 in November 2013
Also good news for Calgary’s real estate market via The Calgary Herald:
According to Mike Fotiou, associate broker with First Place Realty, November set another record for luxury home sales as 50 properties sold in the $1-million plus price range, breaking the monthly record of 48 set last year. It’s the 10th straight month of a new monthly peak.
