highpark condos construction

The Daniels Corporation is making great headway with its highly-anticipated HighPark Condominiums project in Bloor West Village. With the bulk of excavation complete, and the builder now laying the foundation and footings, it won’t be long until residents can call the nature-oriented community home.

The 14-storey residential development, designed by Diamond + Schmitt Architects Inc, is directly across from the nearly 400-acre High Park. Not only will Toronto’s largest urban park stand as the building’s backyard, the project is adjacent to the subway tunnel. But condo-owners don’t need to fret about the noise.

“There’s been a significant amount of engineering and planning that’s gone into ensuring we construct the condo well, so the building is actually isolated from vibrations and noise that would come from a subway tunnel,” says Sam Tassone, the Vice President of The Daniels Corporation.

BuzzBuzzHome News was recently on-site to view the construction progress. Check out the pics we snapped below:

High Park Toronto

We visited the site on a bright, autumn morning. The building is literally steps away from this striking view of the park.

HighPark Condos caters to the active type who appreciate the great outdoors, and the amenities alone are enough to pique the interest of Torontonians. With the condo’s bike-share program, residents who don’t own a two-wheeler can simply borrow one. Local experts will also be on-site to teach people about bike maintenance and organize planned excursions.

Those looking to downsize can still fine-tune their landscaping skills too — the second floor will house community gardening plots. Just learning the techniques? Every so often, organic Ontario farmers will pay the site a visit and lead gardening workshops and seminars.

Couple these amenities with a two-storey rock climbing wall, dog washing station and outdoor yoga studio, and HighPark Condos becomes the wellness hub of the city.

Since not every suite can face the park, Daniels is also constructing two outdoor terraces that offer unobstructed views of the treetops.

The project is slated for completion in 2015. Suites range from 320 to 1645 square feet, and prices start from the $300,000s.
