There’s no stopping Calgary’s hot housing market which saw sales rise 19.44 per cent in September compared to the same month last year, according to preliminary data from the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB).
The average sale price rose 8.27 per cent to $454,352 while the median price climbed 8.78 per cent to $402,500. The average number of days on the market dropped from 45 in September 2012 to just 36 in September 2013 — a 20 per cent decline.
Turning our attention to Calgary’s condo market, the latest CREB data shows sales were up 17.39 per cent last month compared to a year ago while the average price rose 4.38 per cent to $298,764. The average price of single-detached homes and townhomes rose by 9.25 and 2.95 per cent, respectively.
