The 30th Annual Housing Design Awards in Ottawa gave a welcome nod to all things contemporary, so it’s no surprise 211 Melrose was one of the judges’ top picks this year. The luxe property, located in the Civic Hospital neighbourhood in Ottawa, won a coveted Housing Design Award on Saturday, October 5th.
Surface Developments clearly has an eye for modern design, since another one of its cutting-edge projects, Canvas, located in Old Ottawa South, was presented with the same award. In addition to both wins, the developer was also the finalist in four separate categories.
The annual event, hosted by the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association (GOHBA) brings together top players in Ottawa’s real estate scene, from renowned architects to established builders.
If the award ceremony revealed anything, it’s that Ottawa homes are shedding their traditional image in favour of fresh design with high-end finishes. So take it from 211 Melrose and opt for a spacious shower with glass walls, or an open-concept kitchen. It’s the little upgrades that make a big difference anyway, right?
Congrats, Surface Developments!
