Mississauga is rapidly expanding its public transit system. Thanks to its central location at Eglinton Avenue West and Metcalfe Avenue, Downtown Erin Mills Condominiums, the master-planned community by Pemberton Group, will be in the middle of an exciting $259 million expansion plan undertaken by a partnership between the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario, GO Transit (a division of Metrolinx), and the City of Mississauga.
The Mississauga Transitway, as it is now officially known, is a high-efficiency east-west bus transit route designed to bypass traffic congestion to benefit MiWay (Mississauga Transit) passengers and GO Bus riders, in order to more quickly take users wherever they want to travel within the GTA.
This dedicated 18-kilometre bus-only-lane will run along the Highway 403/Eastgate Parkway/Eglinton Avenue corridors, connecting Winston Churchill Boulevard in the west, to Renforth Drive in the east. Twelve stations are planned at key points, and Transitway will include a number of connections to local bus services and inter-regional transit and subway systems as well, meaning you’ll be able to reach nearby Oakville or even Pickering with ease.
Residents of Pemberton Group’s master-planned community will have access to the Erin Mills station on Eglinton Avenue. Part of the second phase of the Transitway plan, the Erin Mills hub is slated to open in 2015. That’s perfect timing for those living at Downtown Erin Mills Condos, who will be able to move into their suites and take advantage of the new transit line.
With the ambitious plans to revamp Erin Mills Town Centre just across the street also underway, this condominium community is rapidly becoming one of the most convenient and best-serviced places to live.
Suites start from the low $300,000s.
