Take a stroll through Chinatown in Vancouver and you’ll notice the crane is now up at the Keefer Block construction site. You will also discover that a number of new businesses have popped up in the area in recent months.
At Gore Avenue and East Georgia is The Pie Shoppe, a place where you can enjoy a fresh organic coffee with a slice of homemade pie. Even closer to Keefer Block is Mamie Taylors, an American restaurant with taxidermy decor serving up tasty food and drinks. And to the west of the development is Bestie, a German sausage and beer joint on the corner of Pender and Columbia.
These new spots are in addition to all the other trendy shops and restaurants that Chinatown has become known for. Of course, Keefer Block residents will also appreciate being within easy walking distance of downtown, SkyTrain stations, green spaces, sports fields, movie theatres, the Olympic Village and plenty of other urban amenities.
The progress at the Keefer Block construction site also confirms that the brick and concrete building is on track for completion in the second half of 2014.
If you’d like to learn more about the exciting development, visit the sales centre at 880 Seymour Street — now open from 12pm to 6pm Saturday through Thursday.
