Vancouver home sales prices june 2013 Home sales in the Vancouver region were up 11.9 per cent in June compared to the same month last year, while the benchmark price dropped three per cent to $601,900 during the same period.

The latest MLS figures from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) show there were 2,642 homes sold last month, up from 2,362 sales in June 2012, but down from the 2,882 sales in May 2013.

Last month’s sales were also 22.2 per cent below the 10-year sales average for the month, while new listings for the month were 11.5 per cent below the 10-year average.

New listings in Greater Vancouver totaled 4,874 in June, a 13.2 per cent decline compared to the new listings reported in June 2012 and a 13.8 per cent drop from the 5,656 new listings in May of this year.

The total number of properties listed for sale on the MLS system in Greater Vancouver was 17,289, down six per cent from a year ago and up 0.4 per cent compared with May 2013.

Other notable figures from REBGV’s stats

  • The benchmark price of a single-detached house on Vancouver’s West Side is $2,070,200, a 6.1% decrease from a year ago
  • The price of a Whistler condo has fallen 41.2% from five years ago and now sits at $222,800
  • Pitt Meadows was the only community in the region to see a year-over-year increase in the benchmark price for all housing types, up 1.5% to $383,000
