67 Avenue CA two-story church at 67 Avenue C in East Village is going residential.

We spotted a permit filed July 17th for a seven-story, seven-unit development with 1,843 square feet of commercial space and 7,451 square feet of residential space.

Formerly home to the Lower Manhattan Congregation Jehovah’s Witness, the building near East 5th Street will get five new levels, including a penthouse vertical extension. The residences will be full-floor and half-floor, with a duplex penthouse on top.

The architect is Vikatos Architect PC and the developer is Natan Vinbaytel.

The church was put up for sale by the Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2009, asking $2.2 million, Curbed reported. Then in 2012, the Witnesses placed the property on the market again, Crain’s reported.
