Last week, we reported on the ongoing demolition at 54 MacDougal Street in South Village. Now, we know the new development slated for the lot is a five-story, four-unit residential building by Ajax Partners.
The project will measure 8,457 square feet, with storage rooms, a recreation room and a terrace, according to this plan exam application filed July 29th.
Three of the units will be single-level, and the top unit will be a triplex, says this Schedule A filing.
The little brick house being torn down dates back to 1820 and made an appearance in 1997’s Men in Black. Built on land owned by Aaron Burr, the structure has housed model railroad supply companies, art galleries and antique stores, according to the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation.
