Harmony’s 119 high-rise homes are rising above central Richmond at 8288 Granville Avenue, just minutes from every neighbourhood amenity imaginable.
Residents will be able to walk 10 minutes in any direction of Harmony and end up perusing the 240 shops of Richmond Centre, or stopping to eat at one of the neighbourhood’s many restaurants. You could also find yourself at the Canada Line station where a train can whisk you to downtown Vancouver in 20 minutes. For exercise, the Minoru Sports Pavilion is within Harmony‘s 10 minute walking radius, as is the Richmond Public Library.
And perhaps best of all, there’s the many parks that surround the 16-storey condo development, including Garden City Community Park. One of the most unique features of this 17-acre park is its playground — designed by children, for children.
Kids from five to 16 years were asked to provide input as to what they’d like to see in a park. The resulting space is one that promotes social interaction, physical health, creative play, cognitive development, and good old-fashioned fun. Natural elements blend with man-made playground structures, a skate park and picnic area. Meanwhile, grownups can entertain themselves playing on the tennis and basketball courts.
Of course, this green space offers more than just a place to play. Walking trails lead through a birch forest and into another highlight of the park: the two-acre arboretum, a collection of nearly 100 trees representing numerous Pacific Rim species.
