There will be a Trump Tower in Vancouver and The Donald himself, along with his wife and son, will be in the city next Wednesday to make the official announcement.
As was previously speculated/reported, the Holborn Group will be bringing the Trump tower to the city — already billed as “one of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings.”
The news follows reports earlier this year that a Trump tower would be built on the site of the cancelled Ritz-Carlton luxury hotel-condo project (pictured in the above rendering). That project originally launched as a twisting, 60-storey building, but the 2008 recession put the plan on the shelf.
The CBC reported back in Febraury that the rebooted project with the Trump brand would stay true to the original Arthur Erickson design (plus five gold-plated letters at the top of the building, one assumes). If that’s true, and we’ll know for sure by Wednesday, the building will be Vancouver’s second tallest.
BuzzBuzzHome, of course, will be attending the official announcement to bring you all the details, visuals and pageantry. Stay tuned.
