601 Washington Street Pat LaFrieda’s former meat warehouse at 601 Washington Street in West Village is going to become a residential project designed by BKSK Architects.

The meat dealer to the stars packed up and moved to New Jersey in 2009, but we spied a permit filed May 17th for a new nine-story, eight-unit building at the site, also known as 127 Leroy Street. The proposed total residential square footage is 44,504, which given the eight apartments, will make for some seriously spacious — dare we say “prime cut”? — housing.

According to the project filings, there will be automated car parking, a roof terrace and two quadruplexes occupying floors six through nine. We can’t wait to see the renderings for those meaty fourplex babies.
