Worst Room Williamsburg 1

Rental apartment hunting in New York can get downright gladiatorial, only with more bedbugs and serial-killer roommates.

Ryan Nethery’s self-explanatory Tumblr, THE WORST ROOM, showcases (shame-cases?) profoundly ugly yet expensive spaces up for grabs on Craigslist.

Nethery, 25, told The Huffington Post that since moving to New York City from Kentucky five years ago, he’s had six different places: “For reasons either inside or outside of my control, I have had to vacate all of them… The reasons varied from cokehead roommates to roaches, and most recently, a roommate who wanted more space to start a family.”

Check out several gems Nethery found on Craigslist below. And read the captions; if you don’t shudder at the words “slightly used futon, sheets included,” you’re stronger and grosser than we are.
