Gairloch and Centrestone Urban Developments Inc. are behind the mid-rise structure that will add modern style to the historic area.
The BuzzBuzzHome News team was at 383 Sorauren’s exclusive VIP event held at its presentation centre in early April, and we loved it so much we wanted to go back for a more private tour.
While there, we were lucky to catch up with Founder of Gairloch, Bill Gairdner, who spoke of the high amount of interest the development is receiving, especially from neighborhood residents.
“I think they’re very excited, we have a lot of people who live in single family homes on that side of Sorauren that have been very positive,” said Gairdner. “They actually purchased in the building and then a lot of people in Robert Watson Lofts have also purchased more on an investment standpoint.”
383 Sorauren is Gairloch’s first development, and although he’s making success look easy, Gairdner said it’s quite the opposite.
“There’s a lot of steps in the development business and sales success is just one of them,” said Gairdner. “There’s zoning approvals and things like that which is a major hurdle as well, and then construction financing is obviously a big one. Right now there’s beautiful pictures, a beautiful model suite, and sales centre, but to actually deliver what you said you’re going to deliver is a big part of the equation and something I take super seriously, so I want to make sure I can execute on that well, but so far so good, I’m very, very excited.”
For those who aren’t familiar with the Roncesvalles area, Gairdner put the neighborhood’s charm into his own words.
“I think it’s beautiful,” Gairdner began, “It’s definitely a charming neighborhood. I find it urban, yet still removed from the downtown core which I think is nice, so it feels kind of like the first authentic neighborhood when you’re heading west from the city. There’s cool people, a lot of active type young professionals, great food, it obviously has the Polish influence, nice bars, and nice restaurants.”
Two parks are located within walking distance of the development and all methods of TTC transportation are just minutes away.
