If windows are the portal to a building’s soul, New York-based artist José Guizar has been doing a lot of soul-searching lately.
Guizar, a graphic designer, has created a sweetly minimalist series named “The Windows of New York,” featuring windows and fire escapes from Soho to the Upper East Side.
“The Windows of New York project is a weekly illustrated fix for an obsession that has increasingly grown in me since chance put me in this town,” Guizar states on the WNY site, adding the series “is part an ode to architecture and part a self-challenge to never stop looking up.”
Guizar promises on the project Facebook page to portray “a new window every week, until New York stops having windows.”
