Who loves you, 250 Bowery?
The young, rich and artsy fabulous, according to the New York Daily News. The VE Equities condo designed by Adjmi & Andreoli has drawn celebs such as Scarlett Johansson and Paul Simon, who have checked out its bright, lofty one- to three-bedroom apartments.
The terminally chic eight-story development is the black-metal-and-glass capper of the area’s revival, which kicked off with the 2007 arrival of the lush Bowery Hotel and the opening of the New Museum at 235 Bowery.
250 Bowery developer Zach Vella told the Daily News that the neighborhood hits the sweet spot between being edgy and too edgy: “It has grit — and artsy people with good taste aren’t afraid of that. I’m surprised at the prices we’re getting, but people want good design and this neighborhood will always have a history all of its own.”
Douglas Elliman’s Oren Alexander was so psyched about the building that he purchased an apartment there. “The Bowery could be the Park Avenue of downtown someday,” he told the Daily News.
There are still several units left at the development, which will be anchored by an Anthropologie; you can live out the dream and gander at them here.
