While the above image looks like it could be a photograph of an escalator in Hell, it’s actually a picture of the kind of art found in Stockholm’s subway system. In fact, the entire Swedish system is lined with artwork, making the 68.3 mile track (110 kilometres) the world’s longest art exhibit.

And what works almost as a companion piece to the red-walled escalator, is the “Door to Hell” in Derweze, Turkmenistan.
