u condos Walk Score, the official authority what makes somewhere an excellent place to live due to its “Walkability”, has spoken: U Condominiums is a ‘Walker’s Paradise’.

The publicly available index that awards points based on proximity to local amenities, ranks Pemberton Group‘s condominium community as perfect due to easy access to a wide array of urban conveniences. To qualify for the Walker’s Paradise top honour, Walk Score requires that, “Daily errands do not require a car”. For U Condos this is certainly the case.

Located on Bay Street just south of Bloor, and adjacent to the University of Toronto’s St. Michael’s Campus, the U community is ideally situated for residents to take advantage of the abundance of shopping, dining and cultural attractions that the neighbourhood has to offer.

We previously highlighted the various restaurants and major cultural attractions that lie just minutes from U Condos, but what we didn’t focus on then is that every day-to-day need can be found within walking distance too.

Manulife Centre, located only a block away, contains a large grocery store, a pharmacy, as well as specialty shops, the Cineplex Odeon Varsity Cinemas, an Indigo and LCBO. For those looking for a casual dinner out, there are several options within Manulife and many along Bay, Yonge and Bloor Streets that are more affordable than the typical nearby Yorkville fare. There aren’t many places in the city that can boast such a wide selection of stores, restaurants, take-out and transportation options within easy walking distance.

Walk Score also awards U Condos a perfect transit score, calling it a ‘Rider’s Paradise’, because of the incredible 18 transit routes (14 bus and four rail) nearby.

It’s a great opportunity to keep your car in the garage and reacquaint yourself with the lost art of taking a walk. Already a walker? U Condos is right up your alley.
