Waiting for a walk signal to light up at an intersection is a tedious task for any pedestrian. But two German interaction design students are turning the waiting game into, well, a game.

From Good.is we learn about “StreetPong”:

“When the walk signal turns red, the game comes on, mounted on a street pole in place of the usual walk button,” the Good.is explains. “Pedestrians on each side of the street can play a version of Pong with each other. When the signal turns green, the game is over.”

Not only is it a time-waster at a crosswalk light, it also encourages a little friendly interaction between two strangers, albeit still on a piece of technology.
