It’s described as being “pin-shaped” but we can’t help but be reminded of a honey dipper when we look at this design for an observation tower in Phoenix, Arizona.
Renowned architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) is behind the Phoenix Observation Tower, which will be built 430 feet in the air and topped with a 70,000-square-foot public space.
“Likely visible from space, the pin will let aliens and astronauts know where Phoenix is and visitors can enjoy unparalleled 360° views from its heights,” reads a post on Inhabitat. “Lit up with LED lights at night, BIG plans for the Phoenix Observation Tower to serve as a working model of sustainable energy practices and will incorporate a blend of solar and other technologies.”
More images and info on the design can be found on BIG’s website.
