The landmarked bank building at 177 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights will become 13 condominiums.

The property, currently a Chase Manhattan bank, at Montague and Clinton streets will receive a one-story rear addition and renovation by Barry Rice Architects, Brownstoner reported. In November, the architecture firm presented Community Board Two Land Use Committee with its plans, which include removing air conditioning units, cleaning the exterior, swapping out the skylights and installing insulated wood windows.

The thirteen condos will be located in the rear annex building, while the main building hall remains a Chase bank. Residents will go in through a new canopy entrance, which will lead into a “miniature grand hall.”

The project went to the Landmarks Preservation Commission for approval today.
