As a blog dedicated to real estate and development, we’re obviously big on new things and maturing communities, but that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate a little history – especially when it’s mixed with the modern.
It’s the sort of combination that makes developments like The Maynards Block and Coquitlam’s Mackin Park so great – with their modern twists in heritage neighbourhoods.
And in the spirit of mixing the new with the historic, here’s a trending photo on Reddit that caught our eye, which depicts Vancouver’s Hastings and Cambie street intersection as it is now and as it was nearly 100 years ago:
The image is a part of the “Merging Time” art exhibit – a collaborative project between the City of Vancouver Archives and Langara College’s Professional Photo Imaging Department.
