Remember how exciting tree houses were when you were a kid? Turns out they’re just as exciting when you’re an adult.

According to Fast Co Design, The Bird Apartment was designed by Oki Sato. Commissioned by the Momofuku Ando Center, a conservancy in the foothills of Komoro City, Sato created what is, perhaps, the most unique visitor’s center ever.

One side of The Bird Apartment has smooth white boards, but the other side of the facade is made up of 78 mini gabled houses, each large enough to hold a bird’s nest. Visitors can enter the house from a long stepladder leading to a single entrance.

Best tree house ever? We think so.

The 78 bird houses on the facade add great texture.
