How much space do you really need in your abode? No more than one square meter according to a possibly agoraphobic Berlin-based architect…

Van Bo Le-Mentzel has conceived a house that measures one square meter (11 square feet) and while it may be more of an artistic statement than a practical design, it sheds some light on humanity’s relationship with our dwellings.

Le-Mentzel created the space where “no one other than I, myself, can decide what happens with this one square meter of mine in the world. It’s the only square meter in the world where I can decide what direction the window looks in, what direction the door opens in, what neighbors I have.”

What makes this extra awesome is that you can rent out the one square meter house on the vacation rental site Airbnb for 1 euro a night. Sounds like a pretty good deal for a unique one night stay, but of course, you’ll have to pay for a flight to Berlin first.
