Montreal placed 8th on a list of the world’s most loved cities recently compiled by CNN GO. The travel site noted that “Canada’s original sin city” is known for its “certifiably festive attitude”, awesome poutine, European vibe, and festivals like the Festival International de Jazz and Just for Laughs.
Can’t disagree with any of that, but just one question: why doesn’t Montreal score higher? The place is beautiful!
So how did the site compile their list? In their words:
“We’ve trawled the Internet for media “best of” praise, solicited recommendations from local correspondents, bloggers and travelers, scraped the bottom of every Internet and press barrel we could find for reasons not to include these conurbations, and still come up with what we think is a definitive list of the world’s most loved cities.”
Sounds pretty reasonable to us. Maybe not the most scientific, but we’ll take it.
Tokyo was ranked number one on the list while Shanghai and Santiago placed second and third respectively.
Here’s a look at the full top ten:
4. San Francisco
7. New York City
9. Cape Town
