local fort york condos rendering Any Torontonian history buff will already be familiar with Fort York, but the former military base and the neighbourhood that surrounds it is worth getting acquainted with if you’re a real estate buff too.

The quickly evolving neighbourhood is, without a doubt, an up-and-comer in Toronto. It’s no wonder that Onni is so excited about their new development, Local at Fort York.

The condo and townhome project will be situated on Bruyeres Mews, just south of Fort York Boulevard. Easily boast-able benefits of the area include proximity to the Bathurst streetcar and adjacent good ‘hoods like Queen West, King West and the Entertainment District.

However, the great thing about up-and-coming neighbourhoods is they often have benefits that are new or in-the-works and Fort York is definitely no exception.

For those who are not content with a diet of take out and microwaveable dinners, Loblaw’s will be moving into a Lakeshore location soon. Is Loblaw’s Toronto’s favourite grocery store? Debatable, but we defy you to name a better one!

There’s also the recently resurrected Fort York pedestrian bridge and the Puente de Luz Bridge that will dramatically improve the neighbourhood walkability. Score one for pedestrians and cyclists!

Local at Fort York will also be close to the new Billy Bishop Airport Pedestrian Tunnel which broke ground in March. Score one for easy-travel!

The new library planned for the area (Toronto’s 100th) will be within easy walking distance and the new June Callwood Park will be the ideal place to spend sunny Sundays.

The Fort York area really has the new amenities and planned improvements to back up its title as an up-and-comer. Looks like Onni’s choice of location for Local couldn’t have been better.

More buzz soon? Oh, you better believe there will be more buzz soon!
