According to stats from a new BMO Home Buying report, BC buyers are unwilling to engage in a bidding war.

But Ontario, Alberta, and the Prairies had respondents that were more likely to go for the jugular when bidding for their dream home.  So how big was the difference?

32% of Manitoba and Saskatchewan respondents ranked first for willingness to fight for their dream home. 28% of Ontario buyers and 25% of Alberta buyers felt the same way, while only 23% in BC would go the extra mile.

Other stats from the study note that 52% of those surveyed are willing to pony up 100 to 110% of a home’s asking price, and 27% said they’d pay between 100 to 120%.

What’s your take on these stats? Are you likely to engage in a bidding war and pay above the asking price?
