Labeled Vancouver’s fastest growing neighbourhood from 2006 to 2011, Mount Pleasant could be seeing a new wave of “Boom Years”.

The first Boom Years came about in 1912 and were marked by the construction of the area’s historic Lee Building.

Now seeing a new rise in construction and popularity, developers are facing dilemmas over preserving the feel of the historic neighbourhood. But Collection 45, by MYIE Homes, promises to rise to the challenge of blending the old with the new.

Located at 8th and Main, the building combines unique elements that they feel successfully capture the historic spirit of the area.

“That is why the building height was restricted to 6-storeys, keeping with the homegrown feeling that is quite evident here, and all elements of Collection 45 adhered to, and were approved by, the Mount Pleasant Community Plan,” says Cristy Edmonds, VP at Fifth Avenue Marketing, who are working on the project.
