Winter may be officially over today for Torontonians (what is it 20 degrees out there or something?) but we shouldn’t be putting the chilliest of seasons behind us just yet.

There’s plenty to love about winter. Like what? Like Bloor-Yorkville’s annual IceFest. Luckily it was still cold enough at the end of February for an appropriately cool festival.

Sculptures were placed throughout Yorkville on the February 24-25 weekend and crowds gathered to gaze at the amazing feats of ice architecture.

None other than one of our favourite Yorkville condo project, CHAZ. Yorkville, happened to be a gold sponsor of the festival this year. The new development by 45 Charles Ltd. and Edenshaw Homes also managed a very spectacular engineering achievement — a 7 foot tall ice replica of the condo tower.

The sculpture was created by IceCulture who used an architectural CAD drawing to develop an exact replica of the building. It was illuminated from the inside to highlight the residence’s architectural nuances. Amazing stuff!

CHAZ was also feeling charitable over the weekend and donated

To top it off, the developers have a limited time incentive for suite purchasers. It runs like this: if you buy at CHAZ before March 21, 2012, you won’t pay maintenance fees for 3 years! Putting maintenance fees on ice for 3 whole years? We’d probably sign ourselves up if we didn’t just live in our office.

How will IceFest 2013 possibly top IceFest 2012? We’re excited to find out and we’re sure you are too. But in the meantime, why not read more about CHAZ here and check out pics of the project’s sales centre right here?

For more information call 416 922 0045 or email info@edenshawgroup.com. Visit the project website here or just head over to 101 Yorkville Avenue to pay the sales centre a visit.
