At BuzzBuzzHome we’re used to seeing mind boggling developments. When your head office is in the condo capital of the world, you see a few every time you step outside — on the way to work, lunch, out on Friday night, all the time!

But every now and then we see a project that deserves a little extra attention, a unique new development that makes you do a double take, even when you’re accustomed to seeing a lot of unique new developments.

When we first saw the renderings and heard about the concept for West40, we did one of those double takes. Heck, we might of even done a triple take.

Here’s the scoop on this exciting Bloor West development…

West40‘s phrase to live by is “Expect More. Live the un-ordinary.” They’re definitely practicing what they preach because this is one un-ordinary development.

West40 is a church conversion project that will boast 17 large, three- and four-level townhomes. The church itself is a century old and features Tudor-arched openings and design elements associated with early medieval English architecture.

The church was designed by architect W.A. Langton who was known for his attention to brick detailing.

Interiors will feature original brick masonry, hammer-head wooden trusses, classic stone columns and gothic brick arches and windows.

Each residence will range in size from 1,178 square feet (two bedroom) to 1,986 square feet (three bedroom plus den) while ceilings range from 10 feet to an astounding 33 feet.

Dog Day Developers
are really doing something incredible with this project and we’re looking forward to hearing more on this one (more epic renderings, please). We know more news will be coming this Spring, but since the project is currently in its registration phase, you might just want to register now to get in on the ground floor on this one.
