Shelley Lloyd read about the contest through her subscription to developer and retailer Cadillac Fairview’s Shops at Don Mills e-newsletter. She chose the name “The Hub” — a fitting title because Flaire is at the hub of the circle formed by the Donway East and West, at the intersection of Lawrence Avenue East and Don Mills Road.
The Hub was designed by Alessandro Munge of the acclaimed Munge Leung interior design firm. It boasts access to an outdoor space and a chef’s kitchen. Surely some next-level parties will be held here and we just hope that we get some invites.
So what was Shelley’s prize? Aside from going down in history as the person who named Flaire‘s party room, Shelley got an invite to the exclusive Bier Markt grand opening party where she got to sample what the gastro-pub had to offer.
For the uninitiated, the Bier Markt is a European-style restaurant that already has locations on the Esplanade and King West.
It’s known for its awesome beer, fresh ingredients and from-scratch cooking. Sounds like a great addition to the Shops at Don Mills roster of dining options.
We always love hearing fresh news about Flaire and Shops at Don Mills and it sounds like more updates are on their way down the pipeline. The new sales office and model suite opens in March, so keep your eyes peeled for info on that!
