Okay, okay… We know Love Day isn’t until August, but we’re celebrating it early this year because we just read all about LOVE Condos‘ architecture and it put us in that mood.
We’ve also given you the full story on the positively lovely amenities. Now, to complete our guide to LOVE, we’re going to get in depth on the project’s architecture by the one-and-only Turner Fleischer Architects.
When it came to designing the building, the award-winning firm wanted to create something with both sophisticated and playful elements so that LOVE would speak to the diverse home buyers attracted to it.
“The community includes two towers, a stand alone amenity building with a pool and exercise areas, lounge area and landscaped green roof and a collection of townhouses, all surrounded by lush landscaping,” says Peter Turner, a partner at Turner Fleischer.
“The exterior of the 20-storey first tower is a mixture of glass window wall and metal panels, with the townhouses having a finer grained brick to make them more street friendly.”
In the natural light category, the suites at LOVE score high marks. This is no coincidence. Turner Fleischer designed the building to maximize the amount of light that the window wall and balconies would receive.
“Each suite is essentially rectangular, but the upper-floor balconies and some outdoor areas off the outside rooms are curved to give the building a geometrically clean, modern shape,” Peter explains.
“Most of the residential condominium market prefers a contemporary look today, so LOVE‘s architecture is a good fit with what purchasers want.”
Another aesthetic high point at the development is the Amenity Centre — a steel, glass and stone, free standing pavilion with enclosed access linking to each of the two condominium towers.
So do you feel like you’re totally knowledgeable on LOVE‘s architecture now? Has this been the best Love Day ever? We sure think so…
