Last time we wrote about Jasper Gates, we zeroed in on the awesome Edmonton neighbourhood that surrounds the 20 home condo project.
The ‘hood will be getting a full makeover beginning in Spring 2012 that will see the city replacing roads, curbs, sidewalks and streetlights from 149th to 156th Street. There’s even a plan to build a new LRT station! Oh, and did we mention the easy access future residents will have to the extensive River Valley Trail System?
We think the centuries-old real estate proverb “location, location, location” still rings true, even in the age of super high tech amenities, and Jasper Gates could not have picked a better one. However, we also believe that location isn’t the only important factor when deciding on where you want to live — every development needs something more.
The unique flourishes that the developer added when designing Jasper Gates are built-in studios, desks and flex rooms. When creating the floorplans, the developer had the next generation of first time buyers in mind. Folks in this younger generation are more likely to have jobs that allow them to work from home. There’s also the entrepreneurial spirit — certainly alive and well in Alberta — that is encouraging people to start businesses right from their own homes. Many start-ups can’t afford to lease office space (at least not right away) and these suites have been designed to accommodate a built in work space.
Check out the floor plans with the flex space here!
If you happen to have one of those traditional jobs where you don’t get to work from home (possibly in your PJs) then the flex space can be used for whatever you please — an art studio, games room, bro-zone, home library, the possibilities are endless.
We think this flex space is a brilliant idea. We definitely could have used some of that back in the early days of BuzzBuzz!
