It may be winter across Canada, but Coquitlam is in full “Bloom“.
We are of course referring to Bloom, the new condo and townhouse project by Springbank Development that’s currently turning heads on the West Coast due to its prime location and proximity to the new Evergreen transit line.
Demolition at the job site in Coquitlam was finished up last month and construction is expected to commence early this year. Condos and townhouses start in the mid $200,000’s and there are 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and townhomes available.
We’ve got photos of the demolition — you know how much we love our action shots — but first, let’s do a quick backgrounder on the big new transit project in Metro Vancouver, the Evergreen Line.
The Evergreen Line is a planned 10.9 kilometre long rapid transit line that will connect Coquitlam City Centre through Port Moody to Lougheed Town Centre in only 15 minutes. Evergreen will connect without transfer to the SkyTrain network at Lougheed Town Centre Station and will integrate with West Coast Express and regional bus networks.
If all goes according to plan, service should begin by the end of 2015 and the line will serve 70,000 passengers per day by 2021.
This is huge news for a lot of new developments in the Metro Vancouver area and Bloom will be situated only 300 metres away from the future Burquitlam Skytrain station. Best of all, the stroll to the station is through the park adjacent to the development.
While you’re in the Bloom-mood, it would be well-worth your time to check out the Springbank Facebook page. If you complete their online survey, you’ll be entered into a contest that has prizes awarded monthly. The first prize, 2 passes to Cypress Mountain, will be given away at the end of January. Sweet deal!
