When you step onto West Queen Street West, something magical happens. The neighbourhood gives you a special vibe that is quite rare in a city full of unique areas.

We’ve always said that Queen West is the city’s go-to cool neighbourhood and it’s been expanding west into Parkdale with ultra-hip clothing shops, bars and cafes popping up everywhere. Q Loft, the new project by Royal Queen Developments, are definitely capitalizing on this expansion westward and are betting that this area will stay cool for quite some time.

That’s the funny thing about “cool”. Some areas don’t stay cool for long, but others can keep their cool for decades (or more!). In our expert opinion West Queen West falls into the latter category.

We’re thinking Q Loft made the right call, especially after hearing about the new organic farmers market that will be opening next to the community centre in 2012. Nothing beats fresh vegetables and with this farmers market only steps away from Q Loft, your vegetables will pretty much be the freshest.

The community’s artistic side is also being fostered with a cool new art project in the Dufferin Tunnel. Inside the tunnel there are a collection of square concrete canvases that artists from across the globe will use to create a variety of brilliant works.

Q Loft will be 8 storeys with 70 units ranging in size from 436 to 1041 square feet. Despite the project being already 75 per cent sold, there’s still a great selection of suites remaining. TACT is handling the design while Michael Krus of TACT Design is doing what he does best, working his design magic on the interiors.
