Electric cars aren’t just a passing fad guys! The SIM-LEI isn’t the slickest car, aesthetically speaking, but the SIM Drive Corporation has certainly developed an electric car with specs and a price that will move some serious stock.

The newest version can drive over 300 km at a constant speed of 100 km/h and can hit 333 km in “general urban traffic conditions in Japan.” The company says it’s on track to mass produce that cars in Japan by 2013 and the price is expected to be on par with gas-powered cars.

Good news for all those Toronto condos who have been integrating parking spots for electric vehicles in their garages. We’re just wondering when we’ll be able to test drive one of these babies.
